Shop Life Summer Update

As it has been for everyone across the world, the last few months of have been a tumultuous time at CCBC. Initially in early March, traffic in our stores and on our website slowed to trickle. But then the lifts stopped spinning and backcountry skiing took over. We suddenly were averaging twice as much business as our busiest Christmas week ever as every skier that had thought about getting a setup for uphilling decided now was the time.

As suddenly as the rush came on, we were forced to close up shop during the lockdown in Colorado. Those restrictions lifted last month, and we are happy to announce that we are back open, only in Carbondale location, for all customer service or for boot fitting and shop work by appointment.

Current Customer Service and Operations

To keep up with the heightened demand for getting out into the backcountry, we continue to be open 7 days a week out of our Carbondale location.

Check out our new FaceShot video chat for gear consultations to streamline the process.

Our Vail Valley and Aspen Highlands stores will remain closed until later in the summer.

Summer Gear Online

Every year we venture farther into the backcountry by expanding our gear offerings into summer pursuits. This season, we were excited to welcome a larger selection of trail running and hiking gear from Salomon, Dynafit and Scarpa as well as rock and alpine gear from equipment manufacturers like Black Diamond and Camp. The Avon and Highlands locations were set to open for full regular season hours for the first time, but we have temporarily put that on hold. Instead, we have been frantically working to expand our website to show the full breath of our summer gear collection. We believe that by phone consults and email we can steer you to all the right gear in the safest way possible. There has never been a better time to explore the backcountry around you so check our summer gear tab or call us up with request.

Aspen Highlands Flagship Store Remodel

As our meeting place for guided backcountry skiing, avalanche classes and the home of our largest ski touring demo fleet, we are expanding our Aspen Highlands store for the upcoming summer and winter seasons. We have torn out the walls to the surrounding offices and expanded the storefront. We now have the space to offer the full selection of our original Carbondale shop and web-store, but slope side. As always we will be adding coffee and a small beer and wine bar to be the meeting place for your next ski touring adventure. We are anticipating a July 15th reopening.

Cripple Creek Backcountry Team Points

With the decreased exposure and spending on Facebook, we are giving back to our customers with our first ever loyalty program. Now more than ever, we will need your help in keeping your money with a small business and spreading the word to your friends. Spending money at one of our locations, shopping cripplecreekbc.com or referring a friend will all get you CCBC Club points. You can use these to buy more gear, beer or a coffee in one of our shops, but you also be able to use it for discounts on experiences like guided backcountry skiing or even an avalanche safety course.
