Do the words 'hop-turn', 'kick-turn', or 'your-turn-breaking-trail' elicit any strong emotions deep in your chest? If so, consider setting yourself up with the Scott Super Guide 88. This ski is a touring tool that is ready to get put to work. Effortless uptracks come including with the Super Guide's lightweight construction. But once these bad boyz are clicked into downhill ski mode, they instill confidence in almost any conditions (alright, they're not a powder ski). The unique construction combines an ultralight Paulownia core with hardwood Beech stringers for a stable yet lively ride. Add in a Carbon/Aramid weave and a precise 3Dimension Touring Sidecut, and the result is a lightweight package that’s surprisingly quick and reliable on the way up and won’t let you down on for that hard-earned descent. This Super Guide 88 is 184cm in length, clocks in at 1400g, has sidecut dimensions of 127-90-112, and a turning radius of 19m.
The Scott Super Guide 88 is paired with the Dynafit Radical ST. The ST Radical ski touring binding is a lightweight, durable, frameless binding that was conceived especially for ski touring beginners. The outstanding and cost-effective value, as well as the length adjustment of 12.5mm, are key selling points in selecting this classic ski touring binding. In addition, the new flip-style heel lifter, integrated ski brakes, as well as an adjustable release values of 4-10 ensure simple handling and a versatile range of use. This binding is one of the most popular touring bindings in the world for a reason.
This binding is a great model from Dynafit that has seen some updates over the years but the design has remained the same. Perfect for all skis but especially the daily driver looking for a lightweight, solid and simple binding.
Colltex Mohair Mix skins are a blend of 65% mohair and 35% nylon that create a reliable combo for both skin glide and grip. The nylon provides great durability and grip on icy skin tracks, while the mohair gives the skin glide and packability. This is a great all-around for all different types of tours.
Overall, this setup is used but not abused. the skis have seen a few seasons of rental use, but have plenty of life left in them. The bindings are in fair shape and fully functional. The skins are cut to fit and ready to roll (or glide?). This is a great setup to get into the world of ski touring at a great value.
Mounted for a boot sole length of approximately 284-342mm.
