The Scarpa F1 Speed Touring boots are super light-weight which makes them great for touring. Mike at the shop was helpful to point out the best way to put them on and how the different tongue pieces fit properly. They also have the BOA tighting system most snowboarders are familiar with. Makes it much easier to tighten and loose the boot. Excellent ski/walk feature. I feel like I'm walking in a normal shoe, or very close to it.
Had a great time getting these boots with the friendly staff.
Super comfortable and really light. They feel a little plastic-y but they've held up great thus far. Comfy both to walk in and ski in.
I've used the Scarpa F1 exclusively (except when I'm randonee racing) the last two seasons, and they have been extremely capable and reliable in both their uphill and downhill performance. Being fairly lightweight (1,250 grams @ 27) and with great range of motion in walk-mode, they tour quite efficiently and fluidly. The stock Intuition liner is just thick enough to provide nice support and warmth. When it comes to descending, the boot feels very secure and with a fairly stiff flex, probably more than you'd expect upon first impression. This equates to awesome control and power transmission, so you can drive up to 105mm touring skis with confidence. Overall, the F1 is one of the few boots that achieves such well-rounded performance and dependability in a lightweight package.
