The G3 ROAMr 100 Swift Alpine Touring Ski is a one-ski quiver just as competent in bounds as it is in the backcountry. The ROAMr 100 Swift is very similar to its non-Swift compatriot, but designed for lighter smaller riders. G3 claims that the ROAMr's golden ratio is 30% backcountry / 70% resort. So if you want a resort ripper that still is capable of human-powered missions, look to the ROAMr 100.
The ROAMr series is built on a poplar and paulownia wood core for a nimble, lively feel. A sheet of titanal aluminum is layered both above and below the core to give the ski greater power transfer and stability. This is the key ingredient that makes this ski a hybrid on/off-piste machine - just enough metal to add stability on resort, but not too much to bust your gut for uphill touring. The ski is finished off with full-thickness bases and edges on bottom and a textured nylon topsheet on top. This ski won't experience the same level of deflection as a lot of standard touring skis because of the thin layers of metal added to it. It'll inspire confidence for downhill riding, but it will still be ready for another lap once the lifts stop spinning.
The Roamr features a medium camber underfoot with an early rise in the tip and a low-profile, flat rise tail. This shape provides a forgiving, playful feel that will make skiing feel fun - that's the point right? You will have a long effective edge when you want it (carving groomers), but be able to pivot turns readily (tree skiing) because of the tip and tail rise. The Roamr 100 is an all-season width. It's the jack-of-all-season, ready to ski resort days in 'variable conditions' or lap backcountry powder.
