Fischer's flagship touring ski, the Transalp Carbon is a lightweight daily driver or ski mountaineering machine. The Fischer touring line uses state of the art milling techniques Aeroshape and Air Tec Ti. Aeroshape shapes the wood core into a convex form to ditch wood weight at the edges and promote snow shedding. Air Tec Ti removes more wood from the base side of the core in a specific pattern that ditches weight while leaving the integrity of the wood in tact, and then reinforcing mounting areas with titanium. Fischer then lays carbon stringers to give it more pop and a longer life and all said and done come in at just over 1200 grams in a 169 cm length. Skin attachment holes securely fasten Fischer brand skins, and all universal skins loop over the tip well and use the aluminum tail notch to lock down.
At only $699, The Transalp Carbon punches way above its price category as a light and poppy machine for moving efficiently in the mountains.
