Description

The Marker Duke PT 16 alpine touring binding sets the new standard for freeride touring. If you want uncompromised downhill skiing performance while in the backcountry or are looking for a resort-centric binding that has the capability of touring uphill, look to this new innovative [and excitingly burly] binding. Think of it as a quiver-of-one binding: high-speed resort skiing capable and backcountry touring competent.

PT stands for Pin Technology, referencing Marker's move towards using a pintech style toe piece for added uphill touring efficiency. For the way down, the Duke PT still has all of the safety of a traditional alpine downhill binding with a fully DIN ISO certified release in the toe and the heel. A convenient feature is the addition of Marker's Sole.ID, making the binding compatible with all alpine and touring boot soles. Just make sure to adjust the Sole.ID plate accordingly if you want to swap back and forth between boots. The Duke has Marker's highest performing Inter Pivot 3 heel to again reinforce the downhill performance focus of this binding.

The transition to uphill mode for the Duke PT involves locking the heel brake up and removing the upper housing of the toe piece to reveal the uphill tech toe. Removing this piece saves 300g per foot for the tour uphill. Once ready to ski down, the upper housing is reattached to the toe piece with Marker's Auto Quad Lock - providing four points of attachment on the binding for assured security. Freeriders and backcountry-curious, resort skiers rejoice, your new binding is here and ready to rip.
