Better than ever before, we are pretty stoked that Scott Sports has brought back the Superguide 95 alpine touring ski.  At our Aspen Highlands, slope-side shop, we get a lot of really strong resort skiers coming in for their first uphill set-ups.  Many of these skiers want and expect their new lightweight alpine touring ski to rip as fast and as confidently as their much heavier downhill alpine boards.  For many years we have confidently matched these skiers with the Superguide 95 for its strong, powerful downhill ride.

Scott's Swiss engineers must have been working hard on this heralded ski for their year hiatus, as they are truly better than ever!  Sporting a new sweet dark green top sheet and graphics, they ski firm snow fast without the tip chatter and edge skidding found in skis of similar weights.  Wicked light for the uphill and “Scott stiff” to rip the downhill. Scott achieves this with a new dual solid wood (Paulownia/Beech) core adorned with strategically placed torsionally rigid Carbon/Aramid fibers along the full length of the ski, making the ski stable, strong and damp without adding a bunch of weight.

The new 3Dimension Touring Sidecut has a wider radius on the shovel, a long radius underfoot and a shorter radius on the tail. This profile allows the Superguide to straight-line it at speed, arc big giant slalom style turns, and then rotate quickly when things get tight. The Superguide 95 has just enough tip rocker to float through pow and crud in the backcountry, but with a shape that is fast and stable on hard snow.

With the 178cm ski weighing in at a mere 1440 grams, this is a lightweight alpine touring ski that you can actually point downhill and let run with speed. For those of us that like to ski fast and ride the rails, we say welcome back Superguide 95!
