Scarpa is back with the redesigned NEW F1. Their ski boot designers took the best of the ultralight ski race technology and implemented them into a simpler, and more durable form factor. This is a boot that is really fast and light, yet stiff enough to handle bigger skis on those less than stellar days. Some of the novel features included in this boot are a BOA closure system on the instep which distributes pressure evenly across your foot, a reworked straightforward walk to ski mechanism (think Maestrale here but lighter and sleeker and less prone to freezing), and a single, power strap upper buckle. These boots also come with Intuition liners and are constructed out of a Carbon Core. Of course, all the fancy stuff on boot doesn't matter if your foot screams at you every time you cram it into a boot. Scarpa's wider design has been known to be the best in the industry for fitting wider feet. Pretty soon, you will start to see these boots everywhere because not only are their innovations so impressive, but they fit so well that these features will soon become industry standards.

Super comfortable and really light. They feel a little plastic-y but they've held up great thus far. Comfy both to walk in and ski in.
I've used the Scarpa F1 exclusively (except when I'm randonee racing) the last two seasons, and they have been extremely capable and reliable in both their uphill and downhill performance. Being fairly lightweight (1,250 grams @ 27) and with great range of motion in walk-mode, they tour quite efficiently and fluidly. The stock Intuition liner is just thick enough to provide nice support and warmth. When it comes to descending, the boot feels very secure and with a fairly stiff flex, probably more than you'd expect upon first impression. This equates to awesome control and power transmission, so you can drive up to 105mm touring skis with confidence. Overall, the F1 is one of the few boots that achieves such well-rounded performance and dependability in a lightweight package.
