Why We Like the Scarpa Gea W Touring Boot (Closeout)

For the 2020 season, Scarpa has taken their award winning Gea Boot and made a few key upgrades. The new Cross Fit Pro Flex Touring Liner features the same, fully thermoformable Intuition foam, with a womens specific anatomical construction. An elastic band on the instep and heel inserts keep your foot and ankle locked into place while skiing up or downhill. An improved Power Strap Plus provides industry leading support against the tongue in a lightweight design. Finally, the 2020 Gea features the environmentally friendly PEBAX RNEW plastic which provides exceptional power for the downhill in a thin, durable, and lightweight package.

While Scarpa took the effort to improve on a few key areas of the boot, they maintained the versatility that we love about this boot. Whether you plan on touring deep into the backcountry, or spinning lifts at your local hill, the Gea will get the job done. 60 degrees of frictionless cuff articulation and a lightweight construction will have the vertical feet melting away beneath your skis. When it comes time to ski, the ankle strap and wave closer system locks your foot into place for maximum power transmission on the downhill. No matter how long you spend in these boots, the fully thermomoldable and ultra warm Intuition liner will keep your feet happy all day long. If you’re looking for a proven ski touring boot that can go for a long tour but also drive a bigger ski, then look no farther than the improved 2020 Scarpa Gea.

Great Boots, especially for narrow toe box!

Love these boots! they are light and flexible on the way up, and sturdy on the way down. Great middle of the road backcountry boot, I have a narrow toe box and these boots are great especially when using the laces in the liner.

Scarpa boots

I was worried the boots would be too tight. They have conformed to my feet very well. The associate that I had excellently evaluated and made sure I was comfortable and happy. Thank you to your store

Super comfy...

Comfy and toasty, though I need a low volume sock with them.

I haven’t skied it yet. Get back to me in late December or early January when I’ll have a better idea. Thanks

Thanks!

I haven't gotten to use my set-up yet but I'm looking forward to a new season of uphilling with gear that is actually tailored to me.

I appreciated the time that Eric and the staff of Cripple Creek took to help me get what I needed. It's an overwhelming industry to research on one's own online and it was nice to be able to talk about what I wanted in person.

Comfortable, light, good downhill performance

I tried on the Scarpa Gea, Dynafit Hoji and the Tecnica Tour Scout boots, and the Gea fit my foot the best. The Dynafit Hoji felt too wide and roomy and the Tecnica Tour Scout felt too narrow and tight. We did a heat mold of the liner and after that they've been so comfortable - I went with Sidas footbeds on the recommendation of Brandon and I'll admit I feel like they help a lot because my arches are supported and aren't collapsing. okay, back to the boots ... they tour really nice with all the range of motion. For skiing downhill, they are stiff enough to give me control but they aren't so stiff like the Hoji that I feel locked in place. I like a little bit of forward flex, and the Gea does it for me. A great boot for intermediate skiers like myself!!
