These green machines strike an incredible balance between weight and ski-ability. At 102mm underfoot they make for the perfect everyday, every season touring ski. Wide enough for deep pow, narrow enough for firm corn; the Navis Freebird is a touring ski you'll even grab for the unpredictability of high alpine mountaineering. Where conditions could be breakable crust or "hot pow" the width of the Navis makes navigating those lines something you can do with confidence.

Black Crows has made coveted skis and from the moment they first hit the US market they have been in high demand. The Navis Freebird touring skis are the perfect illustration of why Black Crows touring skis are so beloved.

With Rocker in the tip, early rise in the tail and solid camber underfoot they'll easily move you into your turn and load you for the next. The Paulwonia and Poplar wood core contribute to that energy while providing and damp and or stable feel through varying conditions.

Finding one ski to do it all is never easy but the Navis Freebird has to be towards the top of any conversations about a one ski quiver.

Navis Freebird ski

Awesome ski. Have always been impressed with Black Crows quality and durability. And Cripple Creek always gets orders out in the quickest fashion. So amazing to have Cripple Creek in Silverton for all of our winter backcountry needs.

Best Back Country Ski Shop

I have said it before and I'll say it again, this place is hands down the best backcountry ski store around. Do yourself a favor pick up the phone call them, stop in when you are in Colorado or use their chat service to get professional help quickly. I couldn't be more pleased with the level of support and care I have received when shopping with cripple creek. Hands down customer for life here. O yea and the skis are pretty dope as well.

OHHHH yeah

Definitely a reason why me and 3 of my friends all ski this and love it- 102mm is almost perfect for ski touring. Arguably the most well rounded ski I've ever used. 19m turn radius is not too long, not too short- just right. Weight is decently light for the uphill, but as Black Crows is known for, they rip on the downhill! I have 2 pairs- one with a Salomon shift for sidecountry/resort days and one with a G3 Ion for just touring. Really really love them!!

The perfect do-it-all touring ski

I picked up the Navis Freebird as my first touring ski at the recommendation of Eric at Cripple Creek Backcountry. I wanted a ski I could take out on mid-winter backcountry tours and then use into the spring for a couple Colorado 14er objectives. The Navis Freebird has been a dream come true as it handles all snow conditions really well, is smooth in its turn initiation, and stable when I turn up the speed a few notches. The ski has a bit flatter tail with medium camber underfoot and a early rise in the tip - it seems like this is a recipe for great handling in powder but also solid edge hold on firm snow. I feel confident knowing that no matter the conditions or terrain I'm in, I have a ski that can handle it all really well. Thanks Eric and Cripple Creek Creek for the awesome service!!
