Why We Like the Scarpa F1 Men's Alpine Touring Boot

The Scarpa F1 Alpine Touring Boot sets the standard for lightweight ski touring. With a medium-fit last, customizable Intuition liner, and smooth flex pattern, the F1 will keep most skiers comfortable and warm during big days in the alpine when lightweight uphill performance is the priority.

Hit any busy trailhead during ski season, and you’re sure to see more than one pair of F1 boots being pulled on. The Grilamid shell combines a versatile 102mm last with an industry-leading Intuition liner for a custom fit that works for many types of feet. The Boa fit system creates a secure micro-adjustable midfoot fit, and is easy to adjust even when wearing gloves or mittens. On the skintrack, a 62-degree range of motion in the cuff and rockered Vibram® UFO Evo outsole keep things moving naturally. A fast-buckle cuff closure makes transitions fast and painless. When it’s finally time to reap the rewards of your effort, a 95 flex and carbon core Grilamid plastic provide lateral stiffness, and a smooth, progressive flex.

Skiers seeking a day-to-day, high-energy (uphill and down) backcountry skiing and ski mountaineering boot should give the F1 a look. The balance of uphill to downhill performance has made these boots category-leaders for years.

    Recurring problem

I’ve had a reoccurring problem with one of the grommets in the boot, it keeps popping out. Guys in the shop have been helpful, but it’s annoying.to have the same repair 5x. Bott performs well otherwise

    Scarpa 🤙

Scarpa F1 have a been a pleasant surprise. The fit has been near perfect for my foot. Toes are hugged and heel is held. No real chafing or hot spot developed in a double day up Highlands + Tiehack.

Everyone seems to have these boots

There is a reason for it - a great all-arounder. I have been really happy with the fit, features, and performance.

Amazingly comfort and performance from a light boot

Bought this boot primarily for early and late season fitness laps in the resort, and with an eye towards some big days in the Spring. Thus far I've only skied them inbounds, but they are definitely exceeded my expectations. Lightest boot I've even owned, and it makes a noticeable difference on the up. Fully buttoned up, they have a remarkable amount of stiffness, but I find I like them loosened up a bit to provide a little more flex. Skiing on groomed pistes, they provide every bit of performance I need. Highly recommended!

    Awesome boots

These felt like slippers right out of the box. Light and flexible enough on the climbs, plenty stiff for the downhill. I broke them in at Highlands and they performed just fine on the steeps too.

Comfortable out of the box. After 4 hour tour liner packed out a little, had to use a heaver sock on next climb. Skied will on Dynafit Blacklight 73 skiing down tracked out road. Tough getting into and out of.
