Dropping! The Beast 108 is an incredible freeride weapon for those who skin-to-send-it. Full double elliptical rocker and the 108mm waist keep the ski nimble in the trees or while pillow popping. If you haven't skied a full rocker ski in deep powder, you're missing out on the most playful form of skiing out there. Dynafit has the pure rocker shape dialed while mostly flat under foot and progressively rockered towards the ends of the ski. This gives you more skin contact on the up and more power and edge contact in the center of the ski on the way down in less than-blower-conditions.
The Ash/Poplar core, and full ABS sidewall allow you to open it up in wide open steep faces and stomp the cliff band with confidence. This construction is downhill performance first, saving weight a close second. While ideally we would all be skiing perfect deep pow with zero wind-effect, the reality is that there are always blown out entries to lines or ice chunks underneath where you'll be thankful for the denser wood and full dampening sidewall.
The Beast 108 has same dimensional profile as the Chugach from the past two seasons, which is an incredible downhill freeride ski. Dynafit claims they shaved an impressive 250 grams from the Beast while using the same charging shape, Ash core, and sidewall construction. We weighed it at 280 grams lighter! We're stoked to offer these pivoting, fun-loving, freeriding powder skis as a demo set up.
The demos come with the easy-to-use, burly G3 Ion 10 binding with brakes and Dynafit skins.
This particular demo has had a base repair and has a slight bulge in one edge that, although it may affect hard pack skiing, should have little effect in deep powder. (See photos)
