The red Black Crows Camox are a shot to the heart. Easily the most popular Black Crow ski this season, they hit the target. Perfect for touring mid-winter, spring missions, skinning up the resorts, or riding off the lifts, the Camox has excelled in all conditions and settings. Moderate flex and camber make it forgiving but torsionally stiff enough to hold true at higher speeds, and over crust and hardpack. Finally a light version of the ever-popular Camox ski yet damp enough to ride with confidence and enjoyment. No chatter, no washouts.
We mounted the Hagan Pure 10 binding to it because we admire the incredibly durable machined aluminum construction that is ATK's trademark. It offers the performance and reliability ATK is known for in a lightweight Hagan-branded package. Weighing in at an impressive 280 grams including brakes, adjustment track, and crampon adapter- this binding falls squarely in the ski-mountaineering category. Modeled off the Core 12, Hagan took what we loved about that binding but stripped it down to make it even more uphill friendly. Instead of 5 climbing positions, the Pure 10 features a singular heel flap for three different heights. The heel adjustment plate is also lighter and narrower.
Custom Black Crow skins come with the Camox. Made by contour and in very good shape, this setup will be the envy of every skier you encounter.
