Black Crows Corvus Freebird Skis (Closeout)

Black Crows began their freeskiing world domination in Chamonix with the design of the Corvus shape. A ski that was meant for charging big mountain conditions, blending modern shaping techniques with traditional ski design. The Corvus Freebird is the touring friendly grandchild of that ski - light enough for the up, but with real downhill firepower.

The Corvus Freebird is a playful mid-winter option capable of handling a high-speed skiing style. Its shape has a large rockered tip, camber underfoot, and a lightly rockered tail. This 10/90/10 (tip/mid ski/tail) shape allows you to hold an edge at high speeds, but then provides nimble dexterity in tight conditions. The tip and tail rise bring added maneuverability to the Corvus' wide waist width. There is a reasonable amount of taper from tip to tail as well which makes the ski plane and pivot better in soft snow. This shape choice adds even more to the ski's playful, surfy style. The Corvus Freebirds construction starts with a Poplar wood core, then layered with a carbon fiber and fiberglass triaxial weave (providing torsional stiffness without the added weight of metal). The skis core is wrapped with full-length ABS sidewalls to help with dampening and durability. The signature pink top sheet is added to finish off this powerful, big-hearted, freeride touring ski.

If you are looking a bright pink ski to play in powder, blast past variable crud and frolic through winter with a smile on your face, look to the Corvus Freebird for a good time out.

RIPPER

Even if you hate Pink (which I do), I still will continue to buy this ski over and over again. This past season was my 2nd on them and they truly made me a better skier. I was able to handle powder SO much better than a few other skis I've tried in this same class. Poplar/Paulownia core makes them super poppy and fun, and I really like the 21m turn radius for big pow turns. I sized up a little bit due to the rocker in the tip and tail and they ski great!
