Great for resort skiing

Carries what I need around the front side while being slim. No problem on the lift and a clean backside (nothing to catch on things). Diagonal ski carry worked well, and the straps stow out of the way when not in use.

Great pack for frontside or light day use

The Dawn Patrol 15 is a great pack for light day or in-resort use. It’s designed to move with you, is light but filled with functional features, and fits so well that I forgot it was on the first time I used it. I had seen a negative review on another site that bemoaned the small size of the bottom loop for diagonally carrying skis—but having gotten to play with this pack, it seems pretty clear that the reviewer confused the small external loop for an ice axe with the bottom ski loop (which is conveniently hidden, tucked away when not in use, and is fully adjustable to match the top loop). All in all, this pack is pretty perfect, and it looks good, too.

I use at the resort with my kids. It has been great addition to our day.

Perfect Sidecountry Pack

I've written about how the BD Dawn Patrol 25 as one of the best backcountry skiing packs out there. Now, I need to include the BD Dawn Patrol 15 as the best "sidecountry" pack made. It has diagonal or A-frame carry, helmet storage low or high, goggle pocket, avy gear storage and enough room for an extra puffy or set of gloves and some water. It's not really big enough to handle backcountry equipment, but that is beside the point of BD taking their ideas for the perfect-carry pack and putting them into a 15L size. Lastly, I need to mention the bomber construction and the way that each feature has been thought through in terms of the eas of use. In the Aspen valley, we could call this the perfect Bowl Pack.
