Black Diamond Helio 200 LT Alpine Touring Binding
The Black Diamond Helio 200 LT is an ultralight iteration of the beloved BD Helio 200. This binding is perfect for people looking for a [close to] fully-featured binding that can handle very fast skiing while maintaining a weight-conscious size. Coming in at a humble 167 grams, it might be one of the most versatile bindings for its weight. Updates for the 20/21 season include a redesigned front lever to improve pole stability while stepping out of the binding. A new toe geometry also facilitates entry and exit to the alpine tech toe. The heel unit's U-spring is now shaped from titanium [rather than steel], which will save a few grams. The biggest change that has allowed the binding to shed significant weight is the removal of the heel unit's adjustment track. This eliminates the opportunity to accommodate different boot lengths and also brings the ramp angle of the binding to a more neutral stance. There are still adjustable and independent release values for both the vertical and lateral direction (RV: 5-10). The riser provides for three positions: flat, 1 & 2. The binding is entirely made from machined aluminum alloy and stainless steel, making it a phenomenally durable binding that will last you a very, very long time.
The BD Helio 200 LT is an impressively light, respectably durable, alpine tech binding with independently adjustable release values. A top performer in its class. If you want one binding that weighs little, charges hard, and holds up - look to the BD Helio LT. Just make sure you don't want to swap in between boots. If so, add the extra 43 grams for an adjustment track with the BD Helio 200
