The widest ski in the super versatile Tour construction from Dynafit. If you want to go lightweight, but prefer a more of a platform for carrying speed through punchy or wind blown snow, the Tour 96 is a great option. Unless there's a guarantee of consistent corn skiing, many of our shop employees prefer skis in the 90-100 range for big mountaineering missions which will include the inevitable section of breakable crust or hot pow.
Full mini-sidewalls give the ski dampening characteristics without unecessary weight. The poplar/paulownia core combines the lightweight paulownia wood matches perfectly with the pop and stiffness gained from full length poplar stringers. A carbon fiber layer helps the ski to maintain its pop and livelyness over the years without adding much weight.
If you tour in an area when you generally measure storm totals by the meter or foot instead of centimeters and inches, this is an awesome lightweight ski. The Tour 96 is also versatile enough to be a ripping corn ski for those that prefer a little more width.
