Top out on the peaks you've been dreaming about all winter on these backcountry expedition skis! They keep it so light at 1180 grams (162 cm) and with 86 mm underfoot are sure to keep you skinning lightly for hours on a longer adventure or a multi-lap day. We at Cripple Creek think 86 millimeters is plenty of ski for a rad powder day but the FINDr 86 truly shines in steep couloirs and spring corn. If you are thinking about a sweet mountaineering ski, or need a slender, sprightly spring ski consider this carbon wrapped, poly sidewall little number. Stiff, stable, and nimble for its class, it proves itself on the snow. Traditional camber and a flipped up tip and tail provide power and turn initiation and a powder scoop floats on the fun stuff. Needless to say this is the perfect combo for some resort days if you find yourself on the chair after a morning skin. You'll fly up the hill and still have enough ski go riding afterwards.
In addition to the plethora of awesome features already mentioned the XCD ski comes with scales on the base reducing, and in some cases eliminating, the need for attaching skins. For long approaches you can simply skin in on your skis waiting to put skins on until the steeper pitches begin and often skipping all the transitions your buddies are fumbling with....ripping their skins off again and again and trying their best to keep them dry. In some cases, if you're out for a ski and staying on rolling or low-pitch terrain there's no need to bring along skins at all! -Saving you the weight and hassle on your casual outing.
