Refined from the popular ION model, the ZED 12 comes with reduced weight while maintaining the same maximum release value, giving you lightweight performance without compromise.
Anti-snowpacking features in the toe and brake units ensure a secure lock-in, with the guided step-in making it crazy simple to click and go without the needless fumbling with toe pins we've all experienced one time or another. Optimal toe elasticity and an 8.5mm range of forward pressure in the heel optimize energy absorption and work to give you a smooth ride while minimizing the risk of pre-release. The wide free-ride mount pattern enables a strong power transfer from boot to ski, allowing you to ski true to your style even with a light tech binding.
Two riser heights give you three different levels for any pitch of your climb, with the easily rotating heel turret able to turn in either direction. With the option to remain minimal and brakeless with a leash (sold separately) or add a brake for extra security (available in 85, 100, 115, and 130mm widths), you can personalize your set-up for your goals. The ZED is compatible with the ION crampon for icy, technical ascents, and the release value is adjustable from 5-12 to accommodate a range of skiers. The 30mm heel adjustment track allows you to go with your lighter AT boots for longer tours or your stiffer flexing ones for bigger pow days, with every adjustment and screw on this binding using the PoziDrive #3 tool.
