How about a Jones quality board at a price to match any competitor? The Explorer is back with an added eco plastic film topsheet, lighter construction and increased durability. The Explorer even will now feature stainless steel tip and tail protectors to step up the durability factor, recycled rubber and come with a WEND wax finish so these boards rip the moment you get on snow!
Maybe you won‚t be riding in the backcountry most days. Maybe you will, but you‚re on a budget. Either way, you know you‚ll be missing out if you try keeping up on snowshoes or by postholing. Jones built the Explorer splitboard for riders like you. What was new for the 2014-15 winter, the board sports many of the same features as Jones signature designs: a blunt nose and directional rocker (tip slightly more rockered than tail) to float the board in soft snow, over crusts and through abrupt transitions; a traditional camber underfoot and mellow Magne-Traction to hold an edge in harder snow; a sintered base factory tuned with One Ball Jay wax and Jones Classic Core construction. Jones rates the Explorer 6/10 on their stiffness scale.
