Spark R&D Ibex Crampons

When conditions turn from bad to worse be sure to have the Spark R&D Ibex Splitboard Crampon available. Splitboard skins can only traverse upwards to a certain degree, the Ibex Crampons will keep you moving fast on that steep icy approach. Designed to be compatible with every Tesla and Tesla T1 system bindings including the Burton Hitchhiker.

Attaching the crampon is simply lining up the fixed slot & sliding it through, making for fast transitions. With some practice this can be done without unstrapping. The Ibex Crampon is made of aluminum for durability whilst staying lightweight at 158g each.

These crampons are good for steep approaches, especially icy terrain in late season. The teeth of the crampon bite into the slope with each stride, thus making sliding backwards a thing of the past.

Solid crampons once you get them on

They’re a little finicky to slide into the binding, I wish they auto-aligned a bit better on the way in. But once they’re on, they stay in place, hold really well for uphill on ice or sidehilling, and I don’t really notice them unless I accidentally step on my other ski. Made a huge difference on some spring objectives with variable conditions.

Best crampons.

I got the wide ones to fit wider pow splitboards, so that’s all there is to say about that. They’re well-designed as far as installation and use, and Spark crampons nest into each other to save room in your pack.
They’re great.

Valuable Spring Tool!

These crampons are a critical tool for spring backcountry snowboarding. Throw them on when things get too icy or sloppy and keep on trucking!
