Technica's Zero G Guide Pro touring boot is a perfect fit for those who want a boot that can tour, but features designs geared toward downhill performance. This boot is a "freeride touring" boot meaning it's geared more towards downhill performance. It is comprised of 4 buckles, Triax 3.0 plastic, a stiff power strap and has removable soles for alpine and touring set ups. Additionally it has punch zones at the instep and forefoot to make any boot work you may need a breeze. On snow testers give the stiffness of this boot at about a 120, so it is not overly stiff thanks to a thinner liner and thinner plastic, but you do get the overlap snuggness of an alpine boot. If you are a side country specialist who prefers laps on the lifts and or downhill performance is of the highest importance this is the boot for you. A boot to tour in when the conditions are right for the peak you have always wanted to ski and are ready to get away from the resort and grab.
