The TNF Freethinker Jacket is both burly for durability and soft for comfort. Its quiet, not crunchy. The waterproof membrane purportedly has some air permeability to move body humidity quicker, which would work. I just know from using this jacket on big backcountry tours and even hut trips mid-winter, it has every performance and functional feature I could ask for. It has two big hand pockets for stashing gloves or mitts while you transition or take a lunch break. It also has a chest pocket handy for everything from phones to sunglasses. Its voluminous. The only thing I can figure out is the internal elastic strap. Seems to hold a phone, but hard to get the butt of the phone in their quickly. A small gripe for a jacket that does everything well.
