Top Splitboard Picks of 2026
The tide is changing and winter will come back! It’s time to mull over our top splitboard picks for 2025/26.The good news is there’s something out there for everyone and we are here to help you choose the perfect board for your needs. Here are the boards getting us most excited about this touring season.
All Mountain Boards
All mountain boards are the typical go-to for a first splitboard or for riders seeking something that is fast and stable. Choosing between our top three all-mountain boards is like being a judge on INK’d. It’s hard to go wrong with any of these boards because they are almost identical in shape, flex, and sometimes size. Luckily, I’ve had the chance to ride them all and can break down the differences of why one over the other.
Jones Solution Mens and Womens
The Jones Solution splitboard is back again for 2026 with no serious updates, other than it’s serious about charging in all conditions. If you like to ride hard and fast then this should be your all-mountain board. Just a reminder that if you have a pre-2020 model, it's time to upgrade to the current Solution which has the spoon base for easier turn initiation. Women absolutely love this board too! I hear time and again that people love touring a Solution in the backcountry and riding a Flagship at the resort.
Weston Gnarnia
The Weston Gnarnia is new for 2026 and Weston has decided to ditch the whole mens/womens thing and going with a unisex size run in each of their models. We absolutely love this move as gender doesn’t matter, but size does! The Gnarnia is born out of Colorado and designed with the roots of the Ridgeline and Riva models. With a wider shovel than most other brands the Weston boards run stable with a really nice flex profile that allows riders to carve hard and towards new terrain and then pop into powder pockets and shoot through the trees. Some of us feel that the Gnarnia is more fun than the Solution. Making the Gnarnia the ideal choice for big backcountry days or even the dawn patrol resort fitness laps. For the time of your life, take this on the biggest of mountain runs. I highly recommend this as an intermediate to expert snowboarder's first splitboard.
The Carbon Board Lineup
We sure wish there was more snow out there but truth is we always want more snow on top of deep snow or no snow. Ultralight or Carbon boards are the answer to getting further and higher into the backcountry where the deepest snowpack lays. Cripple Creek Backcountry has been investing in your experience hardbooting as well as obtaining the best light weight shapes to make backcountry dream days come true. Let’s dive in to the top carbon/ultralight boards of the year.
Weston Carbon Backwoods and Gnarnia
Weston continues to help those converting to the darkside or joining the resistance–however you view hardbooting–with affording a carbon layup board that actually friggin rips! The Carbon Weston Backwoods and Carbon Gnarnia make a great quiver of two. If you like a surfier feel where you can sit back and float, rail side to side or hammer on the front of the board to drive hard and fast then you should grab a Carbon Backwoods. If you are thinking of a hut trip board or something that will let you either relax and cruise or hammer deep carves, then I’d strongly suggest a Carbon Gnarnia. The Gnarnia is a go to all-mountain shape as stated earlier that experts love in tight couloirs and multiverse terrain. The Backwoods for me really shines in untouched snow. I like this board for longer day trips, multiple lines in a day because I can ride it in a shorter length vs my Gnarnia.
Jones Ultralight Lineup

The Jones brand has really set the mark for Ultralight boards. With a true quiver selection at your finger tips there’s something for everyone or better yet, a different board for different conditions if you are truly looking to master the slopes.
The Jones Butterfly is an Ultralight Splitboard that stomped into the scene last year and sold out quickly. This splitboard is for experts looking for a full camber, ultralight, couloir jump turning machine. The specialized butterfly tip and tail let you ride switch, but make you nimble on ultra steeps and increase your effective edge. Ride it with the Karakoram Prime X bindings like Jeremy or suit it up hardboot style like a splitboard guide.
The Jones Ultralight Solution is exactly what is sounds like, an Ultralight Solution. If the regular Solution is gold, then this one is titanium because it’s lighter weight. Still stiff and ready to handle everything you want to ride. If you are looking for something a touch softer with a more playful and tight turn radius then check out the Ultralight Stratos. The Stratos is one helluva fun ride. It’s shape plays well for beginner splitboarders to expert splitboarders. The Directional Rocker/Camber/Rocker and a short turn radius lets the rider stay in the driver seat in all terrain. With impressive edge hold on icy steeps, riders will gain confidence in finding the secret pow stashes.
Quiver Killer Splitboards
That fluffy, billowing white stuff is why we love to go splitboarding. If you’re like most people you probably bought an all-mountain board thinking you would have to ride some switch and were worried about versatility versus pure joy riding. This is the year to make the leap into an all-mountain powder performance splitboards that is fun to ride and probably lighter than your all-mountain board because you can ride these shorter.
Nitro Squash Splitboard
The Nitro Squash Splitboard (pictured far left) iis shaped for stability through the turn and floatation in powder. Being priced well below other splitboards, it's also a no-brainer for intermediate to advanced riders looking for a quiver killer of a board. The Nitro Squash is mid-wide and features a short mini swallow tail that allows riders to float without leaning back. Packed with camber underfoot you can still feel confident riding steeper, variable terrain on the way to the powder stash. If you want to float but cannot compromise on that true camber feel, get this board. Ladies rejoice the Squash Split 148cm board so that you can hoot and holler your way down the mountain as well.
Weston Backwoods and Eclipse Splitboards
Weston Backwoods and Eclipse is our year in and year out staple for beginner to advanced quiver killer boards. These babies love untouched snow from dawn patrols to big mountain missions. With its ultra tapered tail you will feel nimble and light through tight trees and steep situations. They are some of the easiest boards to enjoy riding. These boards will allow you to ride in softboots, hardboots, change up your stance for different snow missions and more. Weston really captures the essence of riding with these two boards.
