Bootfitter's Advice
The Gea RS fits as a medium-volume women's boot on a 102 mm last, with a secure heel from the HRS heel-retention strap and a forefoot that runs on the wider, more accommodating side for the line. After fitting the Gea line for years, we find the Gea RS works well for most foot types. Scarpa moved the widest part of the 4.0 shell back toward the sixth-toe area, so the metatarsals sit in a wider fit while the heel and midfoot hold more precisely. Confirm size with a shell fit rather than converting from a street-shoe number, and note the boot runs a bit long.
We can punch the forefoot and sixth-toe area of the Grilamid Bio lower shell, a castor-oil-based plastic that takes a punch and holds it, though we avoid punching the darker carbon-core zones. Plan on a heat mold of the Intuition Pro Flex Performance liner to lock in heel hold and take pressure off the instep. Entry is easiest with the tongue pulled toward the arch-side of the foot.
