  • The Scarpa F1 LT Alpine Touring Boot epitomizes fast and light AND powerful ski touring. This boot will be the new gold standard for speed touring and technical ski mountaineering. The F1 LT is intended to be the predecessor to the beloved and cult-classic Alien RS. Scarpa wanted to make a more robust version of the Alien RS that could fit skiers' feet better. They did so by blending design features of the beefier F1 with the featherweight Alien RS.

The F1 LT carries the F1's cuff buckle and spring-actuated ski/walk mechanism. These components should be more durable than the single action, dyneema cord ski/walk mechanism of the Alien RS. A thin booster strap is added to the upper cuff and a rear spoiler to the boot's liner (the spoiler will give the boot more forward lean). The lower shell is the same mold as the Alien RS, however the footbed now sits lower in the shell. This lowering of the footbed will provide the boot with better handling and increase the last by 1 or 2 millimeters (the F1 LT will be roughly a 99-100mm last). The final design change for the F1 LT [from the Alien RS] is a web of ridges added to the cuff for improved rigidity. That's a slew of significant improvements for a more robust, more downhill oriented ski boot and all clocking in at 970 grams! That's only 70 grams more than the Alien RS.

The F1 LT (Light and Tough) is a perfect boot for the expert backcountry skier who wants to ski more, and more, and more after that. This boot won't hold you back with a 72° range of motion and sub-kilo construction (970 grams). But transition to ski down and continue to be impressed with the rigidity that comes from Scarpa's carbon-infused Grilamid makeup (both shell and cuff). The BOA closure system micro-adjusts to provide precise fitting on your forefoot. The upper cuff strap buckle [plus booster strap] lock your ankle into an aggressive skiing position for confidence-inspiring downhill performance. Congratulations Scarpa for creating a touring boot that pushes the development of fast and light skiing one step forward. Now grab a pair of these Italian masterpieces and go ski your dream lines with ease, then more after that.

    Scarpa F1LT

I just received my Scarpa F1LT boots and have not had a chance to actually use them. They have a nice, snug fit; my foot feels secure in them. Easy to walk in, very light weight. Snow season is still several weeks away. Hope to get them out in early 2023. Will update once I have a chance to spend a day with them on skis.

Cripple Creek Backcountry has been great to work with. When I call, a human answers the phone (!) and spends time working with me to figure out what II need (!). Highly recommend them.

Fantastic service. Extremely educated and informative service. Trying out my boots before I get them properly molded to my feet. Best shop I’ve experienced in Denver!

These boots are super light, super flexible, and walk uphill like hiking boots. Downhill they're surprisingly good too and aren't nearly as soft as I was expecting. Provided they fit your feet well, it's a hard boot to pass up if you're looking for something light for long days with more conservative descents.

If the boot fits, review it

I had a great experience with Doug, who took his time and guided me in the right direction to some of the most amazing boots I’ve ever tried on. Great to have a team of experts to lean on for their back country expertise.

    Scarpa F1 LT

I have a wide feet and they were a little tight for me at first. I still feel them on the tight side (on width) but It is manageable. Now they are becoming more comfortable and the tightening system is easy to use and adjust on the fly. The ankle is really flexible when unlocked, I can easily drive with those.

    Fast touring boot!

Comfortable, easy to get in and out of, great range of motion which means I don’t always need lifters and super lightweight - ski well too

Get foot beds - really improved fit for me

    Almost perfect

First I must stress that I do not have enough time in the F1 LTs to fully judge but so far so good. I needed a boot that skied everything well enough but was a significant improvement on the uphill over my previous boots (Maestrale's). I get a little tossed around in breakable punchy snow but in every other case the F1 LTs ski superbly (particularly when paired with the Kästle TX87). And on the uphill they are dreamy light (to me) and the range of motion is silly good. Also, I was worried that the fit was going to be an issue (sensitive feet, prefer a roomy toe) but after popping in an off the shelf foot bed they are quite comfy.
I only have 6 or 7 hours in them so far. Stay tuned.

    Scarpa F1 LT

Loved the boot, but need to return it in exchange for the F1. Being a unisex boot, I found that it was longer in height than the F1 and therefore when fitted had a huge amount of pressure around the main part of my calf. My neighbour found the fit to be exactly the same. Scarpa need to make an F1 LT in a women’s version.
