Tech Specs
Tecnica Mach Sport MV 85 W Alpine Boot
The Tecnica Mach Sport MV 85 W is a women's alpine boot for intermediate skiers with average-width feet who want warmth and an easy fit without giving up support. An 85 flex over a polypropylene cuff suits a lighter skier who would over-power nothing and be over-powered by a stiffer boot, and the Celliant N.F.S. Adaptive liner is built to hold heat through a full day. At 1,675 g per boot in a 24.5 on a 100 mm last, with Mechanic Cuff Adapt canting to square the cuff to the leg, this is a boot that can be adjusted to a skier rather than the other way round.

Why We Like It
- Mechanic Cuff Adapt canting lets us square the cuff to the leg, which fixes the inside-edge pressure a lot of women get from a stock cuff.
- Celliant in the N.F.S. Adaptive liner is aimed squarely at warmth, and warmth is the reason most skiers actually quit early.
- The C.A.S. shell is polyurethane, so a narrow heel with a wide forefoot can be punched rather than compromised.
- An 85 flex on a 35 mm strap keeps the boot bendable at low speeds, where a stiffer boot just transmits chatter.
Best Uses
- Full resort days on groomed snow
- Intermediate skiers working toward parallel carving
- Skiers who run cold and ski anyway
- Medium-volume feet on a 100 mm last, sizes 22.5 to 27.5
- Legs that need the cuff canted to sit square
Bootfitter's Advice
After fitting hundreds of women into alpine boots, the two problems we see most often are a cuff that does not match the leg and a shell bought a size large for comfort. This boot addresses the first directly with mechanical canting, and the second is on us to get right: confirm size with a shell fit, not a street-shoe conversion. Tecnica shells cover two mondo sizes, so a 24.0 and a 24.5 are the same shell at a 285 mm sole length.
The N.F.S. liner packs out, so a shell that feels roomy now will be loose later. Punch the forefoot instead. Polyurethane takes that work well, and a liner mold on day one settles the heel.

Compare the Tecnica Mach Sport MV 85 W
Mach Sport MV 85 W vs. Tecnica Mach Sport LV 85 W
Same flex and liner on a narrower shell. The LV runs a 98 mm last at 1,650 g per boot in a 24.5. A narrow forefoot or a skier who wants more wrap takes the LV; the MV is the default fit.

One step softer. The Mach Sport MV 75 W uses a polypropylene shell and a Comfort liner at 1,685 g per boot in a 24.5. Skiers new to the sport or skiing at low speed take the 75; skiers linking confident turns take the 85.

Two different ways to solve fit. The Mach BOA HV 95 W replaces the two lower buckles with a BOA dial across the shell and runs a wider 103 mm last at a stiffer 95 flex. Wide feet and skiers who want to fine-tune forefoot pressure on the chairlift should try the BOA.
