  • Description

After re-designing their previous models to maximize efficiency and minimize weight, G3 gives us the fully functioning, lightweight G3 ZED 12 Alpine Touring Binding. This binding impresses not only with its simple, reliable features, but also with the level of performance and precision transferred to the skis for a tech binding. It is ideal for the backcountry enthusiasts looking for a lightweight binding that still allows them to ski aggressively and true to their style.

    Tech Specs

G3 led the way with the ION back in 2014, making a breakthrough into the pin tech world with a simplistic user friendly binding that was both reliable and burly enough to take on any steep line you threw at it. Now G3 is upping their game once again bringing the ZED into their line.

G3 set out to take all the positive aspects of the ION and cut out all the pieces they did not deem practical in weight. From the toe piece to the heel mech, the ZED is an all new, light weight, all day traveler that will carry you to heights in the backcountry you never thought possible.

Now, to break down all the tasty new features of the ZED. G3 Started off with the toe piece, taking out the widening body parts and making streamline shapes to minimize weight where possible. They also created a simple, minimal boot stopper for guiding your toe bail into place in one simple step. No fussing around trying to fit your toe in the pins. G3 also cut out all the material under the toe springs to shave even more weight.

The heel was a complete overhaul and created a cross between the ION and ION LT. With a single screw adjustment for lateral and vertical release, the 30mm length adjustment also allows for a wider range of boot sole lengths. Just like the ION, the heel turret allows for both clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation when switching to touring. The new slimmed down heel lifts allow for quick pole lifts when climbing and changing slope angles on your approach.

The ZED is compatible with all ION crampons and crampon hardware. And if you want added security, you can add the separate G3 ZED Brake

    Great gear and Better service!

Thanks for your help getting this newcomer into the sport.
Went out 4 times in the last week of our ski season at BC.
The G3 ZED binding works great and is a super lightweight combo on the Blizzards. Thanks for the help, I'll be back for the Wednesday evening meet ups at the shop to skin up in future seasons. Big thanks to the boys at Cripple Creek!!

    Awesome bindings!

Love the operation of these bindings and the performance for the light weight is terrific, no issues whatsoever, using tethers to save even more weight and glad I made that choice as well. All thumbs up here!

    Newer Better.

Love the G3 Zeds. Simple to use and really prefer the cord to the brakes that I had on my last G3 pair. Add in less weight and you can’t go wrong.

Terrific skis and experience with CCBC

My G3 Findr’s arrived just in time for a round of storms blanketing the Wasatch with new snow. I love these skis! Matthew at Cripple Creek helped me put together a package of skis, bindings, skins, and ski crampons. It was really nice to get all this stuff from one place and have it arrive ready to go. They mounted the bindings and cut the skins, and did a good job on both. I wouldn’t hesitate getting anything from Cripple Creek again.

    Great bindings

Been out on them 5 times so far and really like them. Just be sure to remember to lock them when touring. I've had them come off in some sketchy situation because I forgot.
