Specialized Roval Traverse SL 240
Trail riders who value nimble handling will be impressed by the Traverse SL II’s category-leading control, outstanding strength-to-weight ratio, and resistance to pinch flats. At just 1,645 grams, this is the lightest trail wheelset ever. Front and rear-specific rims feature carbon layups optimized for both strength and weight, boasting 15% greater strength in the front wheel and 25% more strength in the rear wheel compared to the previous Traverse SL.
The Traverse SL II is also 21% more vertically compliant than its predecessor, thanks to its shallow rim shape and specific layup. This design enhances terrain hugging and improves bump absorption for better control. The carefully engineered rim shape is designed to flex intentionally, providing improved support and traction that boosts rider confidence. Additionally, the engineered rim offset allows for balanced spoke tension, improving fatigue life.
An optimized "Flat Top" bead profile requires 85% more force to pinch flat compared to a standard round bead, virtually eliminating the risk of "snake bites." A patent is pending in the United States for this innovation. With the innovative “Roval ThreadBed Valve,” which threads directly into the rim, there is no need for compression nuts, and air loss from rim flex is reduced. This feature makes tire setup easier and minimizes sealant clogs.
