Boot Fitters Advice
Description

The Tecnica Zero G Peak Carbon Alpine Touring Boot is a boot that promises to change the game in the sub-100 gram boot category. With a design that refuses to compromise downhill performance, Tecnica has performed some sort of deal-with-the-devil to create a boot that skis like a dream and goes uphill just as well. Carbon cuff and reinforcement, a bomber walk mech, and dialed buckles all set this boot apart. A new standard for how light boots should ski has been set.

  • With the Tecnica Zero G Peak Carbon, Tecnica has entered the sub-1000 gram boot category with a boot that skis as well as it tours. Tecnica won our hearts with the Zero G boot line because simply put, they skied so dang well. With the Peak series, Tecnica has applied that same uncompromising attention to downhill performance into a boot that's light enough for even the most die-hard speed tourers. The result is a boot that is a genre-bending blend of uphill speed and downhill performance and rigidity.

Tecnica has taken years of experience making the some of best-performing downhill boots on the market and applied that knowledge to the Peak. They've used an overlapping shell design which gives a better performance fit and a "T-Hike" walking mechanism which is a lightened version of the bomber walk mech on the Zero G boots. This means the full carbon cuff has a completely rigid connection to the rest of the boot and ensures lateral power transfer and a strong, progressive flex. The Peak Carbon also has a Power Frame and Carbon Co-injection, this allows the overall thickness of the shell to be reduced while still maintaining remarkable torsional stiffness. The sole of the Peak Carbon is reinforced with bi-directional carbon fiber for an additional 10% boost in torsional stiffness so you can have unparalleled edge control. A boot is only as good as its fit, and the Tecnica C.A.S. liner and shell ensure this boot will fit like a glove. The liner is fully moldable and dual-density foam around the heel offers maximum heal retention. The C.A.S. shell is punchable and optimized for the customization process, so hot spots can be a thing of the past. The Tecnica Zero G Peak Carbon packs downhill performance into every gram, and the result is a true mountain conquering, powder slashing, vert crushing beast. Throw out everything you think you know about how light boots should ski– the game has been changed.

    Zero G Peak Carbon

Once again Technica has brought a game changing boot to the game. I put my footbed in, heated the liner, and toured 21 miles. The boots are incredible- they go uphill incredibly and ski very well too. I had read a review to go up 1 size from my normal size- I did not have to go up a size. Awesome purchase.

    Best Boots!

The Tecnica Zero G Peak Carbon are amazing boots, best I’ve ever had. They are very comfortable right out of the box. Super flex for the uphill yet nice and rigid for the down. Couldn’t be happier!

    Amazing Boots

So fortunate that Cripple Creek had the NEW Tecnica Zero G Peak Carbon boot in stock as this is not widely available in most specialized backcountry shops in the USA!
The articulation on this boot is truly amazing! it allows you to mostly forget about needing a second riser. Need for the second riser is very common on 4 buckle beef backcountry boots. With this design there is NO need to release the top buckle or the booster strap. The top of the boot comfort when articulating is perfect! When you get to the top of the climb just throw the lock and the boots are locked and STIFF. The double lock is perfectly rigged. The boots ski amazingly well with consistent strong flex. This boot is amazingly light and the difference in weight and articulation on the uphill is truly remarkable. The weight on the downhill requires three turns to feel confident about the capability. I found on a very cold day with standard toe warmers no issue with feet being cold. The liner isn’t a beef type so special boot fitting and sizing is required. Because of the material and thickness in the boot the punching is not easy to do and requires a highly skilled shop. If you have large punches this may not be the boot for you.
I wouldn’t plan on replacing the liner with a heavier “Intuition “ type liner as this would defeat the purpose of the outstanding articulation system. I have skied this in knee deep powder with 106 DPS Tour 1 ski and it skied beautiful. The sole length is shorter than an equivalent size 4 buckle “beef" boot. I believe this boot will not work in standard alpine bindings.
its a touring Rocket sports car. The only remaining question is how often I will pull on the Tecnica Zero G Pro boot that has been my ride for the last three years.
