The F1 RS runs a 101 mm last, low through the forefoot with a medium instep. It is the roomier of Scarpa’s fast boots and fits feet that the 99 mm Alien shells pinch, without going up to the 102 mm Maestrale platform. Size with a shell fit.

Glass-fiber reinforced Grilamid takes punching moderately: less readily than plain Grilamid, more than a carbon shell. Work the fit through the Intuition FS Tour liner where possible, which Scarpa specifies at 6 to 8 minutes. Forward lean is 15 degrees with 2 degrees either way.

Because Scarpa’s own data does not agree with itself. The technical manual lists the binding system as TLT and AT, but gives the outsole only as Vibram FS with no ISO designation. On boots that do carry the norm, such as the Maestrale RS, Scarpa prints it explicitly as Vibram Cayman LT (ISO 9523). Frame-binding release depends on sole geometry defined by that norm, so we publish pin/tech only until Scarpa confirms it. We have asked. If you need a frame binding, choose a boot with a stated ISO 9523 sole.
