Spark R&D Tech Toes

$305.00

15 reviews

A Spark original tech toe designed for the split-hardbooter. With its integrated splitboard touring bracket hole pattern, this tech toe doesn't need a toe adapter, saving weight, unnecessary parts, and expense. It also has built-in claw mounts for the D Rex crampon. Couple with our Hardboot Dual Height Wires to be ready to tour. The Spark Tech Toe is intended for splitboard touring only.

Weight: 4.30 oz/ea (122g) - 8.61 oz/pair (244g)

Limits stance/front binding position

Seems well engineered like all Spark equip, but not going to work for me. Disclaimer: These might work perfectly fine for most folks, and this is based entirely off my personal preference! I tried mounting to a Korua Dart 162 and these forced me to mount front pucks further forward, limiting binding position stance, angle, and room to actually slide front binding into place. (Didn’t measure, but had to shift my stance significantly more forward.) I ride a fairly narrow stance with steeper binding angles sometimes, and it was pretty obvious these weren’t going to work. Even with the lever fully in the locked (closed) position, front foot space was still not to my liking. (For reference, I have Spark Dyno DH bindings and 29.5 Key Equipment Disruptive) I never attempted to test them out on the mountain and ended up returning for the Voile STS. The Voile is a simpler design with less moving parts and takes up way less space. All other Spark hardware works fine with the Voile: bindings, wires, and even the D-Rex crampons. (Picture was taken after I moved the pucks further back.)

Love em

Love em so far. Still getting used to the hardboot set up, but so far the gear seems great.

Tracking was good. Delivery was blazing fast. Everything fit and mounted up nicely and seems to be substantial and well built. Be aware that the whole setup ads a fair amount of weight to your split board but is exactly the he solution I was looking for to enable rigid boots! Have not ridden them but will as soon as the snow flies.

Good gear, excelent service.

Nice toes. Better than phantom version 'cuz the shape of the center bolt adds some security to the installlation.
Feedback and service by cripplecreek guys has been outstanding.

Tach toes work great, just a little tight.

I'm using them with my phantom slippers. They work great. I only have one complaint. When I lock them out, I can't pop them open with my ski poles. They're just a little tight. But they basically function perfectly after the four full days of touring I've done with them.

Same as the one sold by phantom. The shape of the mounting screw is slightly different. This is cheaper and better.
