Tech Specs
As the successor to the highly renowned powder slaying machine, the Backland 107 W, the Atomic Backland FR 108 W retains the same powerful, intuitive feel that enthusiasts have come to appreciate, but now with a more playful free-ride edge. The FR 108 W features deeper rocker lines than its predecessor, increasing its ability to effortlessly carve through powder and enabling swift, controlled side-to-side turns. This is very noticeable when skiing powder in tight trees.
The increased waist width, HRZN beveled tip and generous rocker profile ensure exceptional flotation even in the deepest powder. The Backland 108 FR was also designed in line with Atomic’s commitment to environmental sustainability. The FR 108 W employs a construction method that reduces its carbon footprint by incorporating more wood and less resin, metal, and fiberglass. This approach maintains the damp, stable feel characteristic of the Backland series. The Dura Cap Sidewall design offers increased protection against rock impacts while improving edge hold on firmer snow.
