  • Description

The Atomic Backland 85 UL Alpine Touring Ski strikes a perfect balance of light weight and downhill performance. A perfect option for high-output uphill efforts, and enough backbone to charge hard on the way back down.

    Tech Specs

The Atomic Backland 85 UL Alpine Touring Ski delivers everything high-output ski tourers need. Ultra-light wood core construction beefed up with fiberglass and a carbon backbone keep the ski amazingly light without compromising on snappiness or edge grip. 85mm in the waist provides enough width to handle deeper snow, but still remains agile in tighter, more technical situations.

Slightly wider than the Backland 78 UL, the Backland 85 UL is perfect for ski-mountaineering objectives that could include softer conditions. Flotation and predictability in powder, crud, and sloppy spring snow are a given with an 85mm waist, combined with surface-area maximizing HRZN Tech inserts. Ultra-strong Dura cap sidewall construction means you don't have to baby these skis, either; they're ready for the abuse of daily high-energy ski touring. A directional shape and full-length carbon stringer mean that the Backland 85 UL will be there for you when you step on the gas.

Backcountry skiers looking for a daily driver they can trust should definitely check out the Backland 85 UL.

    Working out great

I have only spent time skinning in-bounds with these skis, but am super happy with their overall performance - light enough for me - as I prepare for the Power of 2.
