The new Alien 1.0 is the perfect blend of durability, ski ability, and price for any race boot on the market. Carbon where you need it in the cuff and grilamid and Vibram soles on the lower half of the boot combine for a shockingly light sub 800-gram skimo race boot.

Scarpa's flagship ski mountaineering boot, the Alien 1.0, was made for the elite ski racer that doesn't want to go as minimalistic as the Alien 4.0 but still wants an ultralight performance race boot. Scarpa leads the development of innovative and strong materials used in race and touring boots. They utilize a hand-laid carbon cuff and a Carbon Grilamid LFT lower in the Alien 1.0.

The redesigned Alien 1.0 has a Boa lacing system for race-focused fastening, and a speed lock lite system using a Dyneema cord. This design results in a light and easy-to-use system that can be released or locked in a single movement for fast transitions. Compared to the Alien 4.0, there is a beefier tongue in the Alien 1.0's BT liner and a larger Lite Shield Tech gator that gives you more protection from the elements. These boots would make a great addition to your Grand Traverse setup. All of these features combine for a reduced weight race boot with increased power to get that edge for podium finishes.
