The Scarpa Alien 1.0 fits as a narrow, medium-volume race boot on a 99 mm last with a medium instep and a secure heel. We size it close to true Mondo, and since Scarpa builds it in full sizes only, a 26.5 foot and a 27 foot share the 27 shell. The lower shares its shape with the standard Alien, so skiers who fit one usually fit the other.

The carbon in the lower is concentrated below the cuff rivet, and Scarpa does not recommend punching it, so confirm the shell fit before buying and tune with the moldable Intuition liner, heel shims and a footbed. Skiers with wide forefeet or high insteps should shell-fit carefully or consider a higher-volume touring boot.
