The carbon canister is in compliance with North American standards ISO11119-2 USA/M0812 IA18, IATA regulations (table 2.3.A) for the air transport of luggage by passengers internationally. If you are traveling in North America, TSA requires the canister to be empty with the cap and fitting able to be removed.
