For the most downhill-oriented freeride athletes pushing big, heavy touring skis through steep, variable, consequential terrain, the Hawx Prime 130 XTD CT GW is a touring boot you can trust.
If your day of ski touring requires maximum steering control, leverage, and precision, downhill performance and reliability begin to trump weight savings. In the case of the Hawx Prime XTD, you can have your cake and eat it too. Tipping the scales at a respectably light 1840g (26.5), this ready-to-hike boot delivers the legendary feel, skiing power and all mountain capability of Hawx Prime with the touring ability of the Backland. A 100mm last width works best for medium to wide feet. The Mimic Platinum liner offers a high degree of customization, easily molding to the exact shape of your foot, with an Achilles Flex Zone for uphill mobility. Gripwalk soles and tech inserts in both the toe and the heel allow for maximum binding compatibility – along with Frictionless Pivot and Free/Lock 4.0 ski-to-walk mechanism for epic natural movement. Boot sizes 23.5 and lower come with a lower cuff design to accommodate shorter legs. Truly a one-boot quiver for high-output freeride ski tourers.
