Aventon Abound SR Ebike

The Abound SR is the short-tail version of Aventon's cargo e-bike, built for riders who want to haul kids and groceries without a bike that eats the whole garage. Total payload is 440 lb with 143 lb allowed on the rear rack, and the frame uses a one-piece die-cast aluminum front triangle rather than a welded one, which is stiffer under load and noticeable when the bike is full. A 750 W rear hub motor produces 80 Nm and reads pedal input through a double-sided torque sensor, so power comes on smoothly instead of switching on and off.

The 36 V, 20 Ah battery is rated up to 60 miles and unlocks electronically from the display rather than with a key. It ships as a Class 2 bike and can be reconfigured for higher assist speeds in the app. A 50 mm suspension fork, a suspension seatpost, and 20 by 3 inch tires soak up the rough stuff, an 8-speed Shimano Altus drivetrain and Tektro hydraulic brakes with a 203 mm rear rotor handle the rest, and the Aventon Control Unit adds 4G and GPS for tracking and remote lockout. Lights, fenders, rack, and kickstand are included.
