The CAST Gripwalk and Alpine AFD Plate is the anti-friction device that sets the sliding surface under the toe of a CAST Freetour binding, and it is sized for boots carrying ISO 23223 GripWalk soles or ISO 5355 alpine soles. Getting the AFD right is not cosmetic. The plate controls how the boot toe releases laterally, so running the wrong one for a boot sole standard changes release behavior in a way no DIN setting compensates for. Check the sole standard printed on the boot before ordering. Any binding must be adjusted and tested with the specific boots being used. Unisex.
