Bootfitter's Advice
The W TLT X fits on the wider, higher-volume side of the lightweight touring category on its 101 mm last, with a roomy toe box and a taller instep than the old Euro-fit TLT 5. After fitting many of these, we steer narrow, low-volume feet elsewhere, since the shell can feel sloppy once the 5 mm liner packs out. Skiers who found older TLT boots too snub-nosed usually feel more at home in the W TLT X.
The Grilamid shell heat molds and punches readily, so bunions and sixth-toe areas are straightforward for a fitter to address. The stock Dynafitter 5 W liner is thin and prioritizes weight, so skiers with cold feet on long, low-output days often move to a warmer aftermarket liner. The women's shell uses a cuff scallop and shorter cuff than the men's TLT X but is otherwise the same shell.
