Over the past decade, K2 has spent a lot of time building a revamping an entirely new fleet of freeride boots designed by skiers to perform a variety of functions. The K2 Mindbender 110 Alliance boot is a multipurpose boot designed by women to excel on the downhill while providing a reasonable experience skinning uphill. For those of us who need a boot to excel in the resort and get uphill in the backcountry, the Mindbender 110 Alliance is a stiff design with a narrow 98mm last that promises to deliver the highest level of performance.
Equipped with the classic 4 buckle design that is tried-and-true for alpine performance, the Mindbender 110 Alliance has a Powerlite shell which is made from 4 different densities of TPU (Thermo-moldable Polyurethane) plastic varied throughout the boot to provide stability and weight savings where needed. The cuff is Pebax and enhanced with K2's Powerlock Spyne- meant to provide a progressive flex that still walks well with 50 degrees range of motion in walk mode. The Powerfit Pro Tour liner is the last puzzle piece that accomplishes a superb out-of-the-box fit whether you choose to heat mold the liner or not.
