The KMC e12 is a 12-speed e-bike chain built for the sustained torque loads produced by mid-drive motors. KMC's Shield Tech riveting process increases pin retention strength to 450 kgf, well above the tolerance of standard bicycle chains, to resist the fatigue cycling caused by constant motor-assisted pedaling. The Double X Bridge plate structure adds lateral stiffness and shifting precision while maintaining compatibility with Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo, and all major 12-speed e-bike drivetrains. Chain dimensions are 1/2" x 11/128" at 136 links and approximately 239 grams with a Ti-N gold finish. The e12 is a direct replacement for OEM chains on 12-speed mid-drive e-bikes requiring motor-rated construction and enhanced durability.
