The Kuat Grip Ski Rack is a locking roof rack for skiers and snowboarders hauling a full crew's gear to the mountain. It holds up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards and mounts to roof crossbars with the Flip Mount System, fitting round, square, or aero bars.
GripLock rubber clamps skis and boards firmly, and a bottom tray slides about 2 feet out past the vehicle edge for easy loading. Both the GripLock and Flip Mount lock, securing gear to the rack and the rack to the crossbars, with a metal outer shell rated to a 165-pound load. It adds 4.5 inches of height and fits crossbars up to 4.25 inches wide and 1.75 inches thick.
A slide-out tray plus full locking means a shorter driver can load 6 pairs of skis at the edge of the roof and leave them secured at the trailhead.
