The Petzl Meteor Helmet is the crossover helmet that a lot of ski mountaineers settle on, because it is certified for climbing and for ski touring rather than forcing a choice between two helmets. Construction is expanded polystyrene foam under a polycarbonate shell, with protection extended to the sides, front, and rear rather than concentrated on the crown. Generous venting is what makes it wearable on a skin track instead of coming off at the first steep pitch. A semi-rigid ratcheting headband adjusts with gloves on. It also accepts Petzl's clip-on eye shields. Unisex sizing.
