The Crux 5 Expert is a gravel race bike for riders who want race-ready handling and a wide gearing range at a more attainable build. The FACT 10r carbon frame weighs 897 grams, and a size 56 build comes in at 8.22 kg (18 lb, 2.0 oz). Rider First Engineered construction tunes the layup to each frame size, while a threaded BB, 12x142mm rear thru-axle, flat-mount disc interface, and UDH dropout keep service and parts compatibility simple. An S-Works FACT carbon fork carries a 12x100mm thru-axle up front.
Shifting runs on SRAM Force AXS XPLR E1, a 13-speed wireless group paired to a 10-46t cassette and a 40t crankset for the climbing range gravel courses demand. SRAM Force E1 hydraulic disc brakes handle stopping front and rear. Roval Terra C III carbon wheels hold a 27mm internal width and 25.5mm depth, laced to DT 370 hubs on Sapim D-Light spokes, 24h front and rear. Pathfinder 700x45 tubeless-ready tires grip across loose gravel and hardpack.
The cockpit pairs a Roval Terra carbon handlebar, set with 103mm of drop, 70mm of reach, and 12 degrees of flare, to a Roval Rapide alloy stem at -6 degrees. A Body Geometry Power Expert saddle and Supacaz Super Sticky Kush tape finish the contact points, with an S-Works Tarmac SL8 carbon seatpost at a 15mm offset on an integrated wedge binder. For the rider building toward gravel race fitness, the Crux 5 Expert delivers the gearing and control to hold a pace deep into the day.
