The Specialized Status 2 140 is a trail mountain bike built for riders who blur the line between flow trails, bike park laps, and street sessions. A redesigned M5 alloy chassis carries 140mm of rear travel, matched to a Marzocchi Z1 fork with 140mm up front and a GRIP damper. The frame uses a mixed wheel setup, pairing a 29x2.3" Butcher front tire in GRIPTON T9 compound with a 27.5x2.3" Butcher rear in T7, both mounted tubeless ready on hookless Specialized alloy rims with a 30mm inner width.
Stopping comes from TRP Trail EVO four-piston brakes on 203mm rotors front and rear. The drivetrain runs a full Shimano Deore M6100 12-speed group with a 10-51 T cassette and 32T chainring, spec'd for durability over weight savings. A Horst Link flip chip near the rear axle lets the rider drop the bottom bracket 8mm and slacken the head tube angle half a degree; bikes ship in the high position and flip to low for steeper terrain. Before shipping, each frame gets a Ride Dynamics shock tune from Specialized matched to the new kinematics.
Sizing spans S1 through S5 with size-specific parts: 165mm cranks on S1 and 170mm on S2-S5, bar widths from 780mm to 800mm, and X-Fusion Manic dropper posts scaling from 125mm to 190mm. A size S3 weighs 15.29 kg (33 lb, 11.3 oz). Set the chassis low, air up the Bomber rear shock, and the Status 2 holds a line through rough trail as readily as it pops off a concrete ledge on the ride home.
