Tech Specs
Voile Hyper V6 BC Alpine Touring Skis
The Voile Hyper V6 BC Alpine Touring Skis are for backcountry skiers whose tours roll through meadows, forest roads, and gentle ridgelines before the real climbing starts, and who want a surfy, forgiving ski for the way down. A Traction Pattern scale base underfoot grips for kick and glide on easy grades without skins, while a 99 mm waist and 18.5 m radius at 178 cm on a hybrid rocker keep the ski loose and easy to steer in trees. At 1,340 g per ski in a 178, on a paulownia core wrapped in two layers of carbon and fiberglass weave, the Hyper V6 BC fits long-approach tours, hut routes, and mellow powder days in rolling terrain.

Ski Profile
Why We Like It
- The Traction Pattern sits only underfoot, so the scales grip when the ski is weighted and flat while the tip and tail keep a smooth sintered base for the descent.
- Voile gives the Hyper V6 BC the same shape as the smooth-base Hyper V6 at every length, from 126-96-108 mm at 163 cm to 133-100-113 mm at 183 cm.
- A hybrid rocker with a wide shovel and a tapered, rockered tail makes the ski easy to pivot in tight trees and forgiving in variable snow.
- Full-contact steel edges with inset teeth and a full cap keep a 1,340 g ski (178 cm) durable enough for rocky approaches and thin early-season cover.
Best Uses
- Long approaches on forest roads and meadows
- Hut routes over rolling terrain
- Mellow powder tours with short climbs and dips
- Tree skiing in soft snow
- Days that mix kick and glide with short skin climbs
Ski Selection Advice
The scale base earns its place on terrain too gentle for skins and too long to skate. On steep climbs you still put skins on, and Voile notes that the scales add some drag on the descent. Length choice follows the Hyper V6: the radius grows from 17.0 m at 163 cm to 19.0 m at 183 cm and the waist from 96 mm to 100 mm, so shorter lengths are quicker in trees and longer lengths float and settle better in open terrain.
Voile designs the Hyper V6 BC for alpine touring bindings, and a telemark or quiver-killer mount voids the Voile factory warranty. If your binding carries a brake, choose one wider than the waist at your length, which reaches 100 mm on the 183 cm. Match the binding to your boot sole norm. We size skins off the tail: the 108 to 113 mm tails take 120 mm stock, trimmed to the edges.

Compare the Voile Hyper V6 BC
Hyper V6 BC vs. Voile Hyper V6
The Voile Hyper V6 shares the same shape and hybrid rocker at every length with a fully smooth sintered base. Choose the Hyper V6 when your tours climb on skins from the car and you want the cleanest glide on the descent, and the Hyper V6 BC when the day starts with miles of rolling ground.
Voile Hyper V6 Alpine Touring SkisHyper V6 BC vs. Voile HyperVector BC
The Voile HyperVector BC carries the same Traction Pattern scales on a narrower, more directional ski, 96 mm underfoot at 177 cm with camber and a long running length, at 1,290 g per ski at 177 cm. Pick the HyperVector BC for firm snow and long carving descents, and the Hyper V6 BC for trees and soft snow.
Voile HyperVector BC Alpine Touring SkisHyper V6 BC vs. Fischer S Bound 98
The Fischer S Bound 98 is a nordic touring ski, 98-69-88 mm with a fishscale base, built for nordic bindings and lighter boots. It covers flat and rolling ground faster, while the Hyper V6 BC takes alpine touring bindings and skis real descents. Choose on whether the day is mostly travel or mostly turns.
