A 163 is 126-96-108 mm on a 17 m radius and a 188 is 135-102-115 mm on a 20 m radius, so sizing up buys width and float along with stability, and weight follows from 1,135 g per ski at 163 cm to 1,450 g per ski at 188 cm. Most all-mountain tourers land between 173 and 183 cm: go shorter for trees and technical couloirs, longer for open terrain and speed.
Voile builds the Hyper Series for AT bindings, and mounting telemark bindings or quiver killers on the Voile Hyper V6 voids the Voile factory warranty, which runs one year from purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. Skiers planning a tele setup should buy the standard Voile V6, which Voile lists as telemark compatible. Voile marks boot center on the topsheet and publishes a boot center chart per length, so a standard mount works without a reinforcing plate.
