Whether freeride or extended tour is your game, the Yak does it all. Plum updated their Yak 12 to give it a little extra boost into the big mountain game. Now jumping from 12 to 14 on the DIN scale the Yak 14 will keep you locked and loaded for those big deep lines you have been drooling over all year.
With a 7075 aluminum construction that will hold up over long periods of time, and with less moving parts as compared to other companies, the Yak will give durability a whole new name. The Yak is designed to support ski's at 95mm under foot and wider, it is not advised to use this binding under those perimeters. This will allow for the Yak to have a wider platform, creating a much more stable base for when cranking out deep turns.
The Yak also allows for 3 different climbing heights, from flat, to 59mm, all the way to 89mm, even the steepest approach doesn't stand a chance. The Yak gives you the ability to switch between all three with a flick of your pole. the optional brakes can be added in a 110mm or 130mm size and gives you a little extra security in those steep and deep scenarios.
So when you want to take out those monsters for a day of powder slaying and powder playing, look into the Yak for a supported and durable beefy binding, but without the weight of a beef cake binding.
